To the farmer in all of us.

I didn't watch the game last night. I had it on in the background as I was creating. But, this commercial quickly caught my attention. Although I'm not a fan of Dodge, I'm a fan of Paul Harvey, and loved the message. I didn't grow up on a farm, but spent plenty of time on farms of friends and I have a great appreciation for anyone that works as hard as a farmer does. Check out the commercial here.

What to do with those empty bill envelopes...

With the convenience of technology at our every finger tip, the process of paying our bills has become oh so easy. Notice I didn't say "paying our bills has become easy". I don't think forking out the money to pay for all of our luxuries and necessities will ever get easier. But, the fact that I don't have to write out a check, lick an envelope, or search for a stamp every time I need to pay a bill, is pretty darn awesome to me! I've been paying my bills online for quite some time. For most of them, I have set up paperless billing; which means I can see my statements online. However, there are a few that still make it to my mailbox every month, and they always include return envelopes.

I will admit, in the beginning of my online bill paying days, I just threw those envelopes in the garbage recycling bin. But, being the teacher I am, I quickly thought of a way to use them in my classroom instead. My writing center!!! I simply place them in a cute little basket in my writing center for students to use as they please. They can write letters to friends, family members, pen pals, etc.

It's also a great opportunity to teach the students how to correctly write their address (or the school's address) and most already have the return address lines on them already. When they are finished, they can take them home and attach a stamp to mail. If they're just writing for fun, or to a student in the school, I have a sheet of stickers they can use as stamps.

In fact, I just created some Vintage Valentine Stamps that could be printed onto sticker/label paper and would be absolutely perfect around Valentine's Day.

has a new clip art page!

That's right, I've become so addicted to creating digital designs (a.k.a. clip art) that I have decided to devote an entire page to my collection!

Up until now, I've been posting new items as I create. In an effort to "clean up" my blog and organize a little, I thought this was the perfect solution. If you click on the tab on the top of my blog, titled "Digital Designs" you can see ALL of the clip art I have for free or purchase on my TpT store. I've also linked each image to the original TpT page, where you can read a more detailed description and download the item.

Okay, Jack is napping, so I'm off to continue creating! :)

Hearts, Hearts, and more Hearts!

I am in love...with hearts, that is! I can't stop drawing them. I just finished this clip art pack of 98 Doodle Hearts and I am so excited to share them. I think they would be perfect for some Valentine's day items and cover pages. In my preview download, I included a sample of how you could group them into clusters. What do you think?

has hearts on the brain!

Yes, yes, I know - it's Christmas, not Valentine's Day! However, I thought I would take a little break from the current holiday season and whip up this Valentine Conversation Hearts Clip Art. Afterall, I know there will be a lot of teachers out there working on creating TpT items instead of actually taking time off this winter break. The least I can do is help out by giving away these cutie pies as a FREEBIE! I think they would be a perfect addition to a Valentine's Day item cover, or center activity. Click on the link above or the picture below to download your own set. There are 42 hearts total (7 diferent messages). I would LOVE if you left feedback after downloading. Enjoy!
